This page explains how Real Friends uses SMS text messages, how users opt in, and how users can opt out. It is part of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Program Description
The Real Friends SMS program sends transactional notifications to users who create an account in the iOS app and explicitly opt in. Messages may relate to friend activity, including:
- A friend tagging you in a post.
- A friend posting new content visible to you.
- A new friend request.
- Important service-related account notifications.
How Users Opt In
Opt-in occurs inside the Real Friends iOS app during account creation. The checkbox is unchecked by default, and consent is not required to use core app features.
I agree to receive recurring automated text messages from Real Friends about friend activity and account notifications. Message frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
Message Frequency and Costs
Message frequency varies based on activity from your friends in the app. Most users receive up to 5 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply.
How to Opt Out
Reply STOP, CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, STOPALL, or OPTOUT to any text message from Real Friends at any time. You will receive a one-time confirmation message.
You can opt back in by replying START or by re-submitting your phone number in the Real Friends app.

Privacy
We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Your phone number is used solely to provide the Service and communicate with you as described in our Privacy Policy.
Supported Carriers
Real Friends SMS messages are delivered through major U.S. mobile carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
